this week's favourite pictures!

As for my own fashion or handicrafts projects there has been nothing new during the last couple of days =( But I discovered, strangely enough, two pictures this week, which had an enormous impact on me! Very impressive pictures, as if I occasionally met two sides of how I see myself!... Okay, this is getting esoteric ;) But once I saw a girl in the streets of Berlin with platinum blonde hair and a chalk white face, with red lip stick just like "krisatomic", and I thought "Oh my, that's what I want, too!", I loved this mixture of innocent Snow White and the baroque kind of gothic style! Someday I will re-blonde my hair and have a kind of look like this:

sewing the skirt!

About two weeks ago I started sewing myself a skirt as I felt I needed something new and happy but didn't want to spend too much money. Well, I admit I actually only changed this skirt but it was a whole lot of work because it was huge and very long before, so it wasn't too easy to make a knee-length skirt out of it. Now I'm stuck and I feel like I'd ruined it, too. I'm afraid I took too much fabric - the fabric itself is gorgeous but it's quite thick and I look like a mushroom when I wear it. *big sigh* I hope to find a solution, cuz it's a cute skirt actually...

the flea market 2

The days are getting colder, so much colder... I'm already wearing my winter boots and coat and ask myself what to wear in winter, as I'm already freezing under five layers of clothes! But what the heck - it's still bearable, so what could be better than spending the last enjoyable fall mornings strolling through the local flea market, again? Right, I couldn't think of anything so at 9 o'clock I took my way south. I caught a few impressions from there, although most sellers are rather unhappy having their place's pictures taken...

And this is what I returned home with (not much but the little I bought is great!): a dangerous underwear petticoat skirt, which makes me so happy, as I was looking for one like that for a very long time. I love skirts but most of those I own don't have a slip skirt beneath. Now I got one for all of them! Plus a simple but lovely black skirt with folky decorations. Classy but down-to-earth.

This black velvet ethno bag I got for free because the front decorum has to be fixed... lucky me! It's a huge bag with a lot of space; I only got one big black bag and I definitely needed a second choice, so this is a lucky discovery for me! And the brooch is not that bad either...

Another supergreat discovery: a black digital portable cassette-player! This is my one retro obsession: I love cassettes and I love my cassette player. I got dozens and dozens of self-made cassettes which have to last another 80 years, at least! No iPod in my life (not yet) ;) Well, but my player is broken at the moment, and I don't have enough money to have it repaired. It cost 100 Euros and the one I found today is quite the same but cost only 2!!! And it works! My, what a difference a day makes! Happy Sunday, everybody! =)

bags!

Oh my, I could spend the whole day with making announcements of my latest blog discoveries! I don't know if you follow me here but I totally adore all those crafty-blogs: knitting, sewing, just being creative! These sites are so inspiring to me and it just feels good to create things yourself, to create something unique. And, yes: things get more precious the more time you spent making them... mostly ;) Well, for today I choose this ever cute site "Artsy Crafty Babe", because I discovered a couple of gorgeous items there, like those autumn-style bags here:

You can buy them in her etsy-shop! I also discovered this one which makes me want to create a bag like the above with a patchwork-pattern like this:

I love flower-shaped buttons!!!

Customizing!

If you are running out of money at the end of the month, shops are getting boring or it's just too cold and rainy to go outside to shop, there is nothing more gorgeous than customizing things you already own! Sometimes it's only details which change your clothes that much, you feel like just having bought new ones! Right now I am working on a deep purple volant corduroy skirt I never wore. I removed one of the volants to make it a little shorter and added some white cottage-style crotchet lace, which cost me about 3 Euros. It's not finished yet but I think it's a whole new skirt already =) The kitty likes it too!

the flea market

Yesterday's walk to the flea market was a great success for me! I found a couple of items, that are too enchanting, over all an adorable black wool-vest with flower embroideries (my friend hated it but I think it's gorgeous!). I've been looking for a cardigan like that for quite some time by now, but a vest is just as fine for me. I will probably change the buttons though, I sort of find them too pink ;)

I also bought a lovely off-white dress - very cute and romantic - a horrible scarf and a shirt with rosy prints. I close it with a butterfly brooch because it's got a deep v-neck which I don't like. The green corduroy bag I found is great but I plan to customize it so I'll post that one later... all that stuff only cost me 11 Euros!

These shoes!

Due to being incredibly busy I didn't get to post anything during the last couple of days, unfortunately. There were several jobs I couldn't postpone, but for now I got some free time to enjoy the golden October weather, which is unexpectedly frosty but sunny though. So: yesterday was fleemarket-day, finally again! I went there very early with a friend of mine, wearing my new beloved autumn-style shoes, which I simply love - aren't they the cutest thing to wear in this time of the year?

DIY kitties

My project for today is to introduce to you an absolutely loveable blog I discovered. It is a site run by Mimi Kirchner, she has tons and tons of do-it-yourself-projects, which are so inspiring and cute, I couldn't but love all of them! She works with several materials and the results are enchanting! These I found in the January 2005 issue, they just make me smile, I definitely have to try to do that myself...

You can buy those adorable creatures in the cozy.org shop. They are extremely expensive but if I had the amount, I'd buy ten of them! Enjoy the stroll through her gallery and be inspired!

New kitty bag!

Today I received my new supergreat, grey kitty bag, which I ordered from an Austrian seller on eBay. It's just so lovely - I love the natural fabrics, the cottage style linen look, the wooden button and those ever cute kitties. It's handmade and it cost me almost nothing!

red shoes

Today is red-shoes-day! I don't wear this pair very often because I always find it hard to walk on kitten-heels... but they looked so fine with the red curduroy skirt, that I had to give them a chance for today. I combined them with a soft, black 60s style babydoll coat and black lace tights. I sort of felt like little red riding hood, even though I didn't wear any cap ;)

today's outfit: black and purple

I'm not that much for this strange dots-trend which arose sometime last winter. Neither do I like the silly skull-print clothes you can find anywhere you go. Strange enough, today I found myself wearing a dotty outfit with a scarf, in which you can find pink skulls if you only look hard enough... don't ask me. I felt like dressing up a little darker as it was quite dark in the morning too, which made it hard to take good pictures. So this is the result:

It's a simple combination of an embroidered babydoll dress with a purple longsleeve, a black corduroy skirt, purple knee-highs and a beautiful black pair of Mary Poppins style vintage boots, which I love.

boots again!

I love Autumn! Well, it's got its grey sides, it brings rain and unfriendly bunches of clouds are putting this veil on everything, that makes you want to spend the whole day inside. Which is great too! Who doesn't love long, dark evenings with hot chocolate, candles, warm woven socks and a good movie on TV?! The second thing: boots! You can try hard but actually it's no fun to wear boots in summer! So pulling my beloved boots out of the closet after months of negligence is the most lovely welcome-back I can imagine! Today I wear them with a simple curduroy skirt and my fluffy fake-fur-coat I introduced lately...

today's outfit

Spending the weekend at a Bavarian village wedding left a lot of positivity inside of me. Even though it's grey outside and raining, I feel sort of joyful and enjoy the day just as much as any sunny Sunday! Well, and the bride and all the lovely wedding decorations inspired me to wear flowers! That's not too inventive now, but maybe I wouldn't have had the strength to dress up against the weather...

I especially love the new grey tights I bought, which are extraordinarily soft and got these nice folky patterns. They fit perfectly with my favourite oxfords...
